Mayfair Solar Farm

About The Project

Mayfair Solar Farm is a proposed 60MW solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) Project in the Mid-Western Regional Local Government Area, in New South Wales, about 5 kilometres north of Gulgong.

The Project is located on Wiradjuri land over a 300-acre underdeveloped site, that has historically been used for grazing and associated rural activities. The Project would connect to the national electricity grid via and existing 66kV transmission line, operated by Transgrid.

In line with State and Commonwealth commitments to reduce carbon emissions by harnessing renewable energy, the proposed Mayfair Solar Farm has the potential to generate enough clean energy to power approximately 24,000 homes, reducing CO2 gas emissions by 121,500 tonnes per year. The BESS is designed to store the solar energy generated during the day and discharge it at periods of high demand.
