Community feedback on the proposed Mayfair Solar Farm is an essential part of every phase of the lifecycle of the Project.
Recent community engagement
As part of the EIS phase of development, the team undertook a range of consultation activities from 2023 to 2024.
Thank you to all those who attended our community drop-in sessions at the Gulgong IGA.
These sessions were an opportunity for the team to provide more information on the planning and approvals process, the technical assessments currently being prepared and future community engagement opportunities.
Our conversations with attendees also provided valuable insights into key areas of local interest, and this feedback will help to shape the design of the Project and Community Benefit Fund.
We look forward to being back in the community and continuing these important conversations.
What we have heard so far
That the accumulative impacts of projects in the area and that risks and impacts to the community need to be carefully managed.
That tailored requirements need to be included in the scope of the Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA).
That Elgin will continue to consult and provide project updates to the Mudgee Local Aboriginal Land Council and Registered Aboriginal Parties offering the opportunity to comment/provide feedback should plans change.
Mitigations to be provided to minimize visual impact on the landscape to sensitive receptors and neighbouring landowners.
